Seven CIM Students to Perform at Kennedy Center

Seven Cleveland Institute of Music students will perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on Sunday, April 1, at 6pm. This weekend is part of the Kennedy Center’s Conservatory Project, where students from elite American conservatories present free concerts in the Terrace Theater. The Conservatory Project creates an ongoing showcase for our nation’s exceptional young talent and introduces Washington audiences to young musicians destined to have important careers.

The students performing in this special showcase are:

• Zhiye Lin (piano, Paik), performing Godowsky’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus
• Bryant Bush (voice, Southern) and Melivia Raharjo (piano, Pontremoli), performing selections from Shostakovich’s Five Romances on Texts from Magazine Krokodil
• The Belka Quartet – Beatrice Hsieh (violin, Kwuon), Charles Gleason (violin, Kwuon), Serena Hsu (viola, Irvine) and Dan Blumhard (cello, Kraut) – performing the first movement of Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 9 in C, Op. 59, No. 3

For those in the Washington, DC, area this weekend, the concert is free and open to the public; no tickets are required.
