CIM in China

CIM President Paul Hogle, Kathryn Brown (head, keyboard division) and Shicong Liu (international liaison and current student) traveled to China in June for a productive week-long tour to discuss and explore recruiting relationships and expand and develop partnerships with various Chinese conservatories. They toured the schools and met with presidents and officials from the Music Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Soochow University, Shenzhen Arts School, Shenzhen International Piano Competition and the Xi’an Conservatory of Music.

CIM looks forward to deepening relationships with these schools and participating in prospective collaborations including Distance Learning opportunities, recruiting students to study in Cleveland, faculty and student exchanges, visiting scholars and concert opportunities both here and abroad.
