CIM's production of Mozart's 'The Magic Flute' earns high marks

"A panorama of visual delights and a catalog of dramatic invention, brought vivid life to Mozart's last and best-loved opera, The Magic Flute,” wrote Mark Satola, a freelance reviewer for The Plain Dealer who attended the Friday performance of the work by the CIM Opera Theater on November 8.

A sizable crowd attended the Wednesday night premiere of this whimsical production--the first performance in the CIM Opera Theater series for the season. The second in this dual cast opera welcomed a good crowd on Thursday, but it was the complete sell out of CIM's larger concert hall for the Friday and Saturday performances that had students in both casts as well as faculty walking on air.

The glowing review by Satola, complimenting all aspects of the CIM rendition from the musicians and singers to the simple yet highly effective sets, lighting and colorful costumes, has been icing on the proverbial cake.
