Introduction

Scott Hanenberg is a music theorist and guitarist. Scott grew up in southern Ontario playing rock and jazz, and in musical theater productions. He studied classical guitar and composition at Queen's University, and holds an M.A. in musicology and a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Toronto. Scott's research uses corpus analysis and positional listening to study meter and groove in popular music.
