Sept. 17 CIM@Home Concert Webcast on Livestream.com
The best way to experience a Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra performance is live and in person. For many fans (and family members) of our talented musicians this isn't an option, so CIM is offering the next best thing -- a live video webcast of the season premiere concert from Kulas Hall on Wednesday, September 17 at 8pm ET via new.livestream.com/cim.
CIM kicks off its 2014-15 concert season with an orchestra performance at home, featuring CIM Concerto Competition winner Wesley Skinner on cello, conducted by Carl Topilow. Skinner, who earned his Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance at CIM and is pursuing his Master's Degree as a student of Melissa Kraut, competed last spring for the honor of playing with the CIM Orchestra this fall.
The program for the evening will be:
RESPIGHI Fontane di Roma (Fountains of Rome), P. 106
SAINT-SAËNS Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 33
DVOŘÁK Symphony No. 7 in D minor, Op. 70
This concert, presented in appreciation of Materion Corporation, is free and open to the public with doors opening 30 minutes prior to the 8pm concert start time. But if don't live in Northeast Ohio or you can't make it down to CIM in time to enjoy the concert in person, you can listen to it live on WCLV 104.9FM or watch the live CIM webcast by visiting new.livestream.com/cim, starting at 8pm Eastern.
