Opera Theater to Perform Hansel & Gretel for the Community

Hansel & Gretel

CIM Opera Theater brings to life the classic story of Hansel & Gretel – the well-known Grimm Brothers fairytale of siblings who get lost in the woods and encounter a witch living in a gingerbread house. Children and adults alike will enjoy the adventure, which features strawberry picking, a chorus of angels, enchanted gingerbread children and, of course, a happy ending.

The CIM production is double cast, with performance dates for each cast to be announced at a later date. The role of Gretel will be sung by sopranos Anne Carruthers and Jennifer Robble; Hansel will be performed by mezzo-sopranos Merav Eldan and Meg Linebaugh.

New, this year, there will be a Saturday afternoon performance, perfect for families. Click here for an illustrated synopsis of the opera, compliments of the Metropolitan Opera.

Adult tickets are $20, and kids are $10. All performances are sung in German with projected English text. The opera runs approximately 2.5 hours, including intermission.

Before each performance, non-perishable food items will be collected at the Kulas Hall entrance from patrons interested in donating to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
