"A musical home run" at the Cleveland Indian's Home Opener
The much anticipated Cleveland Indians’ Home Opener this Friday, April 10, will include a special performance of the National Anthem by Cleveland Institute of Music alumna and pianist Arianna Korting (YAP ‘12, Teissonnière). To make a real grand slam of things, the piece Korting will perform is the world premiere of a new arrangement of the anthem by CIM graduate, Evan Fein (BM ’07, Brouwer).
Korting was the 2012 winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition and is excited to be performing this new take on the national theme. “It’s going to be exhilarating,” she told the Plain Dealer. “A lot of people outside classical music will get to hear this. I want them to hear it and say, ‘Wow, that’s so cool.’” Korting is now a student at the Juilliard School in New York.
Be sure to tune in to see the Cleveland Indians take on the Detroit Tigers, and to cheer on BOTH CIM alumni!
