CIM Faculty and Student Land Grammy Nominations

Grammy nominations are out and the Cleveland Institute of Music congratulates student Daniil Trifonov; head of the CIM Guitar Department Jason Vieaux; violin faculty member Jaime Laredo; Director of Recording Services Alan Bise and head of the Audio Recording Degree Program Bruce Egre on their nominations.

Trifonov, current student of Sergei Babayan, has been nominated for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for his solo album, The Carnegie Recital and is featured in the album Mieczyslaw Weinberg, which is up for Best Classical Compendium. Vieaux has also been nominated for the Best Classical Instrumental Solo award for his album, Play, on the Azica Records Label, of which Bise is Chief Classical Producer and Egre is President and Chief Recording Engineer. Prince of Clouds, composed by Anna Clyne and performed Laredo and others, has been nominated for Best Contemporary Classical Composition.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 8, 2015 in Los Angeles, California and will be broadcast live on CBS. A total of 83 Grammy Awards will be presented.
