Principal teachers include Donald Erb, composition; Theodore Johnson and Gary Bovyer, clarinet. Summer studies with composer George Tsontakis and participation in the Aspen Music Festival Center for Advanced Compositional Studies with Bernard Rands. Commissions from The Cleveland Orchestra, Canton and Akron Symphonies, Cleveland Composer's Guild, Church of the Covenant, and flutist Sutton Cecil. Works performed by The Cleveland Orchestra, Akron, Canton and Grand Rapids Symphonies, Myriad, Ellis String Quartet, Alpine Duo, Todd Wilson, and Epicyle New Music Ensemble. Several works broadcast over WCLV. Choral anthem, "My Peace," recorded on the Church of the Covenant's "American Music" CD. Member of ASCAP, Cleveland Composer's Guild and Phi Kappa Lambda. Appointed to CIM faculty, 1989.
