World Premiere of Keith Fitch Work in NYC June 17
Composer and head of the CIM composition department Keith Fitch will be in New York City for the League of Composers ISCM season finale concert June 17, at which his League-commissioned work In Memory (2013) will have its world premiere.
PROJECT Trio Addresses Graduates
Alumni ensemble PROJECT Trio addressed the CIM graduating class with the same high-energy enthusiasm that they bring to all their concerts. Although the ensemble was touring Russia at the time of CIM’s 2013 Commencement ceremonies, they recorded a special video for graduates and guests.
Alumna Irene Roberts Makes San Fransciso Opera Debut
Kudos to mezzo-soprano and CIM alumna Irene Roberts (MM ’08) who will make her San Francisco Opera debut as Giulietta in their production of Jacques Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann. The production opens this week and runs through early July. Ms. Roberts studied with Mary Schiller and Dean Southern.
CIM’s Omer Quartet Captures Fischoff Grand Prize Medal
The Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) is proud to announce that the OMER STRING QUARTET has won the coveted 2013 Fischoff National Chamber Competition’s Grand Prize and Gold Medal in the Senior String Division.
