The Ernest Bloch Society
Formed in 1980, and named in honor of CIM’s first Director, the Ernest Bloch
Society represents the core of our voluntary support. Known for his skills
as a great educator and as one of the finest composers of the 20th century,
Ernest Bloch served as a model of what is best about a conservatory education
— a unique learning environment born of the interaction of gifted students
with artists/educators who have reached the top of their profession.
As a result of an October 2007 decision by CIM’s Board of Trustees, the initial
Bloch Society contribution level was changed, after 27 years, from $1,000 to
$1,500. CIM is committed to providing excellence in education and this
excellence is maintained through generous private support. With the cost
of a college education continuing to rise, there is a vital need not only
to encourage our donors to raise their level of giving, but also to attract
new donors to the Bloch Society.
