Courtney Miller holds a Masters degree in Oboe from The Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with the highly renowned and influential oboist John Mack. Before attending The Cleveland Institute of Music, Ms. Miller attended Florida State University where she received a Bachelor in Oboe Performance and a Certificate in Church Music. At Florida State University Ms. Miller studied with the highly regarded oboe pedagogue and performer Eric Ohlsson. Ms. Miller has also studied or performed in Master classes with Elaine Douvas, Linda Strommen, Jeff Rathbun, Frank Rosenwein, Robert Walters, Eric Olson, Richard Woodhams, Alex Klein, Joseph Robinson, Jeanette Bittar, and Richard Dallessio. Ms. Miller made her orchestral debut at age 17 as soloist with The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in 2000 as a result of winning both the Concert on The Green Concerto Competition and The Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. In 2003 Ms. Miller won The Triennial National Performance Scholarship sponsored by Sigma Alpha Iota (A Professional Music Fraternity) and as a result performed a recital at their National Convention in the summer of 2003. Ms. Miller is a member of The Canton Symphony Orchestra. She is also an active performer with many other orchestras throughout Ohio: City Music Cleveland, The Akron Symphony, The Erie Philharmonic, The Toledo Symphony, Red: An Orchestra, The Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Miller teaches oboe at The Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory Department.
