Visiting CIM

Prospective students and their parents are welcome to visit the Cleveland Institute of Music throughout the year. The Admission Office is open Monday through Friday with guided tours offered daily by appointment only. Please contact the Admission Office for an appointment. The links below include the following:

Hotel Information CIM recommends a few nearby hotels which offer preferred rates. Some reduce the rates only during the audition season. However, the links below will connect you to hotels offering year-round availability.

Driving Instructions Cleveland Institute of Music is approximately four miles directly east of downtown Cleveland, off Euclid Avenue, at the corner of East Boulevard and Hazel Drive.

If you are traveling from the east or west via Interstate 90, exit the expressway at Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Follow Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive south to East 105th Street. Cross East 105th and proceed counterclockwise around the traffic circle, exiting on East Boulevard. CIM will be the third building on the left at the corner of East Boulevard and Hazel Drive. Metered visitor parking is available on Hazel Drive.

If you are traveling from the east via Interstate 80 or the Pennsylvania Turnpike, follow the signs on the Ohio Turnpike to Exit 187. Leave the Turnpike at Exit 187 and follow Interstate 480 west, which leads to Interstate 271 North. Get off Interstate 271 at Mayfield Road, westbound. Follow Mayfield Road to University Circle (a distance of approximately 8 1/2 miles). After driving two traffic lights beyond the overpass at the bottom of Mayfield Hill, you will be in University Circle at the intersection of Euclid Avenue. Proceed straight through the traffic light. You will then be on Ford Road and three short blocks from the junction of East Boulevard. Bear to the right at East Boulevard and right again at the next street, Hazel Drive. CIM will be the first building on the right. Metered visitor parking is available on Hazel Drive.

If you are traveling from the west via the Ohio Turnpike, leave the Turnpike at Exit 151. Follow I-480 East to Exit 11 and proceed north on I-71 to Cleveland. As you approach downtown Cleveland, I-71 will change into I-90. Proceed east on I-90 along the lakeshore to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Follow Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive south to East 105th Street. Cross East 105th and proceed counter clockwise around the traffic circle, exiting on East Boulevard. CIM will be the third building on the left at the corner of East Boulevard and Hazel Drive. Metered visitor parking is available on Hazel Drive.

If you are traveling from the south via Interstate 71 or Interstate 77, stay on either of these roads until you connect with Interstate 90 in downtown Cleveland. Proceed east on Interstate 90 along the lakeshore to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Follow Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive south to East 105th Street. Cross East 105th and proceed counterclockwise around the traffic circle, exiting on East Boulevard. CIM will be the third building on the left at the corner of East Boulevard and Hazel Drive. Metered visitor parking is available on Hazel Drive.

By Bus: Arrive at the bus depot. Take a taxi to CIM.

By Air: Arrive at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and take the RTA Rapid Transit train from the airport terminal to Tower City, the downtown station. Then, take a taxi from downtown to CIM.

By Train: Arrive at the Amtrak station. Take a taxi to CIM.

Free Shuttle Bus Service: University Circle Incorporated offers a free bus service (CircleLink) connecting strategic points within the Circle.
