Director of Buildings and Grounds
The Director of Buildings and Grounds is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds and oversight of the safety and security of the Cleveland Institute of Music. This position is also responsible for equipment and utility system maintenance, custodial services, landscape and grounds maintenance, repairs, renovations and alterations, physical plant shop, automotive service, security and administrative work. The Director of Buildings and Grounds supervises the maintenance and security departments.
The ideal candidate will possess a stationary engineer's license, have 5 years or more experience in building maintenance and operations and have supervisory experience. Must have the physical dexterity required for lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, standing and walking for significant periods of time. Must have a basic understanding of building codes, ordinances, restrictions and required permits, as well as excellent computer, planning, project management, organizational and people skills. It is preferred that the candidate will have knowledge of Auto CAD and BACtalk and is an active member in a professional organization such as RSES, ASHRAE or a similar technical organization.
